The participants include medical specialists and scientists from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. They will discuss rehabilitation of people affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, share expertise and knowledge in preventing cancer and iodine deficiency in people living in contaminated areas, etc.

While in Gomel Oblast the Japanese delegations will visit medical institutions including the central district hospitals in Bragin, Khoiniki, Komarin, research institutions that specialize in Chernobyl-related matters, the Polesie state radiation ecology reserve, and the alienation area in Khoiniki District.

The opening of the Confucius Room is stipulated in the cooperation agreement signed by the rectors of the Gomel university and the BSU. The goal is to popularize the Chinese language and culture and sinology in Belarus.

According to the minister, in the modern world regions come to play a bigger role in the social development of a country.

Apart from competition projects, there will be demonstrated animation and children’s films, student works, including those of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts.
